Collection: Nomen, aka Nuno Reis - 1974-2022

Very Sad news : Nomen died in August 2022. A great artist leaving a very rich legacy. 

Nomen is highly renowned in the Graffiti/Street Art Scene. He is one of the oldest and more prestigious artists in Portugal. With a career of 30 years, his long professional path has led him to paint in countless countries inside and outside of Europe. Furthermore, his work has been showed and highlighted in magazines, websites, and books, in Portugal and abroad (most recently in Qatar).

Nomen’s art (1974) was born on the streets. He is a pioneer of graffiti in Portugal, and he is a self-taught visual artist whose universe has been consolidating in a multiplicity and registers since he began to interact with the urban space back in 1989, from the first illegal incursions on trains and walls, to the developed work on a large scale both in expository and institutional environment.

​Furthermore, Nomen is versatile and prolific, the self-named “style swinger” is renowned by mastering the balance between shapes and colours, may it be on elaborated typographic constructions with a unique dynamic, as well on compositions and photo-realistic portraits.

The acquisition of his work is a symbol of an authentic history of a muralist with an international projection, talented, dedicated and absolutely in love since childhood by spray-painted mural art.
