Collection: Galo
Galo became one of the European pioneers of street art and collaborated and exhibited with artists of world importance during his 10 year stay in Amsterdam.
He has exhibited in every part of Europe, in Japan and in the United States. He returned to Turin Italy in 2007 where he currently lives and paints.
In 2010 he opened the Galo Art Gallery in Turin where he curates shows related to the post graffiti and pop art scene. Galo is strongly linked to the post international graffiti scene and his art is his main tool of communication.
“Gasping to Paint” is one of the things that Galo says as he prepares himself for a wall. It comes naturally to him,his walls are free style all the way. His main technique for outdoor walls is to use spray can.
His indoor wall pieces are more precise; indelible ink and acrylic begin as blocks of colors. As the layers build, his characters take shape, with the final black outline making clear to the eye the trade-mark ‘Gigiones’ that aficionados of Galo will quickly recognize.
“There are no mistakes”. Galo's work on canvas is precise; his lines are neat, his backgrounds are a study that will last a life time. Cracks, patterns, splashes of color; canvasses of multiple layers, each with its own distinctive mood and movement.
